AbleLight Thrift Store Celebrates Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting

ST. PETERS, MO — AbleLight expanded its local community impact with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new thrift shop, located at 4122 Mexico Road in St. Peters.

The St. Charles Regional Chamber joined AbleLight leadership, board members, volunteers, employees, and special guest Fredbird from the St. Louis Cardinals to mark the official opening.

Founded in 1904, AbleLight is a national non-profit leader operating across 11 states, dedicated to delivering life-changing services that empower individuals with developmental disabilities to flourish. Guided by Christian love, the organization fosters independence and inclusion through individualized support services that ensure safe housing, reduce isolation, support employment goals, and promote health and wellness.

Proceeds from the new St. Peters thrift shop directly support these critical programs and services within the local community.

"We are thrilled to welcome AbleLight's new location to St. Peters," said Scott Tate, President and CEO of the St. Charles Regional Chamber. "Their long-standing commitment to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities brings tremendous value to our region, and this thrift shop provides a great opportunity for our community to support that mission."

The AbleLight Thrift Shop is now open to the public, offering affordable goods while furthering a mission of independence, inclusion, and opportunity for those with developmental disabilities.
