Chuck Blossom to Receive Inaugural Jim Lang Legacy Award at BCI Golf Tournament

Member News St. Charles County

Boone Center, Inc. (BCI) is proud to announce that Chuck Blossom will be honored as the inaugural recipient of the Jim Lang Legacy Award during the inaugural Legacy Award Dinner on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Whitmoor Country Club.

The celebration continues the following day with the BCI Legacy Golf Tournament on Monday, November 2, 2026, also at Whitmoor Country Club, featuring a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start on two championship 18-hole courses. Together, the two-day event will bring together business leaders, community partners, golfers, and supporters to celebrate an extraordinary legacy while raising critical funds for employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

The award marks an exciting new chapter for one of BCI’s signature fundraising events. Since 2019, BCI’s annual golf outing has honored Jim Lang, a dedicated mentor, passionate advocate, and former BCI Board President whose leadership and unwavering belief in BCI’s mission helped create lasting opportunities for people with disabilities. Now, BCI is carrying that tradition forward with the reimagined BCI Legacy Golf Tournament and the introduction of the Jim Lang Legacy Award, which will annually recognize individuals whose leadership, service, and commitment to inclusion embody Jim’s enduring spirit of empowering others.

Chuck was the unanimous choice to receive the inaugural award, and, ironically, he was the one who first introduced Jim to BCI’s mission, making this an especially meaningful tribute to the legacy they both helped create. Chuck joined the BCI Board in 1987 and became CEO in 1999, bringing business expertise and a deep commitment to BCI’s mission. Under his leadership, BCI experienced tremendous growth, expanding its contract packaging business, operations, employment opportunities, and presence in Lincoln County. Chuck also helped create new pathways to community-based employment and is one of Chuck’s most enduring contributions to the organization.

“Chuck exemplifies the values Jim lived every day,” said BCI CEO Troy Compardo. “Through his leadership, generosity, and commitment to creating opportunities for others, Chuck expanded and elevated BCI’s mission. We are honored to recognize him as the very first recipient of this award.”

The Legacy Award Dinner will provide golfers, sponsors, and community supporters the opportunity to celebrate the inaugural award recipient before taking to the course the following morning.

This exciting new format also creates expanded opportunities to participate and make an impact. With a kickoff dinner, a new tournament schedule, and play on Whitmoor’s two championship courses, BCI can welcome more golfers, more sponsors, and more champions of its mission than ever before.

Each foursome registration includes four tickets to the Legacy Award Dinner. Golfers may attend the dinner themselves or transfer their tickets to clients, colleagues, friends, or family members. Additional individual dinner tickets will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds from the tournament directly support BCI’s employment, vocational training, and job support programs, helping individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, and succeed in meaningful careers throughout Missouri and Illinois.

“Every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer helps create opportunities that change lives,” Compardo said. “This tournament is more than a day on the course—it’s a celebration of Jim’s legacy and an investment in brighter futures.”

Golfers and sponsors are invited to register for this exciting two-day event. Join BCI in honoring a remarkable legacy while helping create meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
